Hello people,
Thanks for patiently waiting for my writing. I will try to keep it concise and informative. lets talk about the reasons for choosing Denmark:
- This is an absolutely Beautiful EU Country, you will live in the middle of everything. unlike me. I live very close to north pole. we have places where polar bear regularly visits during winter. :/ If you think I am talking crazy go here
- Secondly and the most important factor is the tuition fee is actually really affordable. Average Canadian institution charges 18 to 25k per year tuition fees. In US be prepared to pay like 30k minimum. H ere you can finish a year within 8-12k Euros. Now a lot of students will say but 8k euro is not cheap. :/ cheap and expensive is a subjective concept.
- The biggest headache for BD students are Bank statements. Everyday I get minimum 10 email regarding this. Lot of people even decide to sell their assets like lands and gold to show bank statement. It’s sad in my opinion. Real estate is the best asset. Don’t sell it if you don’t have to. This is your retirement. Financial planner in me is talking. Here in Denmark you don’t have to show any statement. you have to pay tuition before applying for visa. The tuition payment receipt is basically everything you need. You can even take loans. no one cares about the sources. Whereas in Canada they literally choke people to death on source of fund explanation. -_-
- You can bring your family very easily in Denmark. Here the spouse enjoys full time work permit. I have heard the average wage in demark is good compared to other EU countries. Some people are concerned about job availability. Well, people we all are going through recession. If you can find a job in BD you can find one here too. Don’t let random people on internet scare you.
- The university courses are taught in English. So you need IELTS. 6.5 is recommended. You don’t need Danish language to survive initially. However I can’t deny the usefulness of knowing the local language.
- Lastly, there are scholarship opportunities. I personally know people with 3.02 CGPA who got Danish scholarships. These universities are not as competitive as Canadian or US Universities.
What are the cons then?
- The language. Unless you are a technical person like a CSE professional you will need the language skill to get a decent job.
- I have heard there is a fair bit of racism available. It mostly come from Danish Brown people tho lol. We brown people are the worst kind of racist. Personal experience.
- The PR is hard. I haven’t personally explored PR opportunities so far. I believe PR takes time in Denmark. People usually move to Portugal or other EU countries where PR is easier.
Universities: There are two kinds of Universities in Denmark. Public and private. Public universities are highly recommended. Private universities have lower admission requirements. but they are expensive. The work permit is longer for the public university students.
I am sharing some university course offering links here. Go through your department. try to find the admission requirement. Prepare your doc and apply.
- University of Copenhagen
- Southern Denmark University
- Alborg University
- Aarhus University
- Technical University of Denmark
Please look for the courses that interests you. Education itself is hard. Don’t do it to make anyone else but you proud.
Once you are done with University search try to reach out to some professors. Don’t over expect. You might get one or two generic reply or none at all. I made videos on how to write good quality email. Check it out here. If you can convince a prof, well and good if not that’s fine too. Apply to the university. No one can predict scholarship. If anyone tries to do that, stay away from them. I have seen people with below 3 getting a full funded scholarship. I am planning a long from content where I will invite some students to share their scholarship experience. Keep me in your prayers so that I can execute that.
There is a great way to apply to all Danish Universities from one place. Here is the link to that website.
I explained the step by step process to navigate through this portal on my video.
That’s everything from me today. I really love writing this newsletter. It’s kind of therapeutic for me. One last piece of unsolicited advise: don’t try to prove you are an VVIP extra meritorious Anis Vai from AJ Robibar person through your writing. The main goal of writing is to communicate with your reader. Try to make it as easy as possible for them. Email me to book an appointment, review SOP etc. etc… marketing done, bye for now.
Warm Regards,
Toma Rahman
